The Mayroke design was first made for Munqik, our kids’ line, so that children don’t just learn Armenian dances but wear them and share their beauty. It now comes in adult sizes too. The illustration shows a girl in traditional dress with long braids and red kerchiefs, under big yellow lettering and circled by the lyrics “Mari, Mari, hay Mari…”. Printed on the back.

About the dance
Mayroke is a much-loved wedding dance-song from Sasun. It sings of a beautiful black-haired girl, Mariam, called Mayro in the Sasun dialect.
